Itralay
Attar & fragrance D2C brand
A WooCommerce rebuild that fixed a leaky buying experience, brought UPI payments to checkout, and laid the groundwork for a WhatsApp commerce agent.
Where it started.
Itralay sells attars and fragrances online — a category where scent notes, occasions, and budget drive the purchase, and where buyers often need guidance before they commit.
Their WooCommerce store was getting in the way: a cluttered buying flow, avoidable friction at checkout, and no UPI option in a market where UPI is the default way people pay. Every extra step cost them orders.
Meanwhile, a growing share of sales conversations was happening over WhatsApp — manually. Someone had to be online, answering the same product questions, for those sales to happen at all.
What we did, step by step.
Rebuild the buying experience
We audited the store end to end — product pages, navigation, cart, checkout — and rebuilt the flow around how fragrance buyers actually decide: clear scent profiles, sensible bundling, and a checkout with as few fields as possible.
Payments that match the market
Integrated Razorpay with full UPI support, so customers can pay the way they already pay everywhere else. Fewer abandoned checkouts, no manual payment reconciliation.
Structure the data for what comes next
We cleaned up the product catalog — attributes, notes, pricing, inventory — so it's machine-readable, not just human-readable. That structure is exactly what a recommendation agent needs to reason over.
Groundwork for a WhatsApp commerce agent
With the store and catalog in shape, the next phase is scoped: an agent that holds a sales conversation in WhatsApp, recommends products from the structured catalog, and closes with a payment link — without anyone needing to be online.
Store rebuilt and live with UPI payments. WhatsApp commerce agent scoped as the next fixed-scope phase.
Itralay — Frequently Asked Questions
What was built?
A rebuilt WooCommerce storefront: a redesigned buying flow, Razorpay integration with full UPI support, and a cleaned-up product catalog structured so a WhatsApp commerce agent can reason over it. The agent itself is scoped as the next phase.
How long did it take?
The store rebuild ran as a single fixed-scope engagement with weekly demos. The WhatsApp commerce agent is a separate follow-on scope, currently in design.
What was the outcome?
A store that no longer leaks buyers at checkout: UPI payments live, a buying flow rebuilt around how fragrance customers actually decide, and catalog data ready for conversational commerce. We publish client metrics only with client sign-off — qualitative outcomes here.
